Course Purpose

• Master the grip of Theory of Estimation

• Appreciate the properties of point and interval estimators

• Gain knowledge on methods of estimation

Course Learning Outcomes

• At the end of this purpose learners should be able to:

  • State clearly a parameter space and family of distribution
  • Verify for different families of distributions known properties of point estimators
  • Carry out estimation based on method of moments
  • Perform estimation based on the method of MLE
  • Do calculation based on interval estimation
